All Walks hosted the first ‘Futures Forum,’ at Graduate Fashion Week, June 2010 to reach deep into education and inspire tutors and students to think about the way fashion design and fashion communication is taught. 61 Heads of Dept from colleges up and down the country were invited to discuss how diversity could make a contribution to creativity, and how the curriculum could reflect a new way of thinking.
At a debate the day before London Fashion Week 2010 kicked off, Erin O'Conner said "I'm a fashion model and I don't fit into the sample sizes, I haven't for some time."
So why are sample sizes made so small that even a supermodel can’t fit in to them? Are the designers to blame for the sudden surge of weight loss and surgery?
A quote from designer Mark Fast - “All walks is important because it demonstrates how the fashion world is taking the appreciation of women seriously."
Alexander Groover explains "I have always believed that some of the most unique, beautiful, interesting, photogenic, catwalk-worthy models do not fit the current and very limiting modelling industry standards."
Co-founders of All Walks Beyond the Catwalk state "We love fashion in all shapes and sizes. Like the multitude of silhouettes and garments our industry both produces and promotes, beauty is also individual. It's not restricted by race, shape, age or size."
